Synopsis
Seventeen-year-old Arato Endou lives in a near-future Japan where humanoid machines called hIE work alongside people, largely unnoticed, until he meets Lacia, an hIE marked out by a mysterious black case that sets her apart from any ordinary machine. As Arato is drawn into hiding and protecting her, the two begin testing what it means for a human and an artificial being to trust each other.
