Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom - Dawn of the Shinsengumi

Down on his luck, Ryunosuke Ibuki is given a second chance by Kamo Serizawa and pulled into the Roshigumi, a fledgling militia sent to Kyoto to put down ronin violence under the largely powerless leadership of Isami Kondou. Working alongside Toshizou Hijikata, Souji Okita, Hajime Saitou, and the others who will later form the Shinsengumi, Ibuki starts to see honor in a group he'd written off, even as the militia's alliance with the volatile Serizawa creates its own problems. This TV series is a prequel to the original Hakuoki, set before the Shinsengumi's formation.
