Ancient jewels scattered across Japan hold the spirits of warlords who fought to unite China in the Three Kingdoms era, and whoever carries one becomes a Toushi, gifted with superhuman combat ability and an unshakable urge to fight. Hakufu Sonsaku is sent by her mother to Tokyo to enroll at Nanyo Academy, where rival schools wage a turf war fueled by these jewels. She is soon trading blows with other Toushi, among them Ryomou Shimei and Kan'u Unchou, on a path already shaped by a legend centuries old.
