Synopsis
This Fullmetal Alchemist guidebook gathers what never made it into the collected volumes across the manga's nine-year run. Inside are a long interview with Hiromu Arakawa, conversations with fellow manga creators and members of the anime's voice cast, a plot and character guide, a series timeline, and uncollected art. Its centerpiece is "Fullmetal Alchemist: Prototype," an alternate version of the story's first chapter that Arakawa originally drew, set in a desert oasis town instead of Liore and reshuffling several character roles. Relay-style 4-koma gag strips round out the collection, which works as a reference companion rather than a continuation of the main story.
