Middle schoolers Mikako Nagamine and Noboru Terao share an unspoken bond that's tested when Mikako is selected for the U.N. Space Army and sent out with the fleet against an alien threat called the Tarsians, leaving Noboru behind on Earth. As Mikako travels farther into space, the text messages she sends Noboru take longer and longer to arrive, stretching their connection across a gap that keeps growing. This light novel is the original novelization of the Voices of a Distant Star OVA.
