Synopsis
Alto Saotome, a flight-school student aboard the colony fleet Macross Frontier, is rehearsing an aerial performance for galactic idol Sheryl Nome's concert when a clumsy high schooler named Ranka Lee stumbles into his path. The concert becomes the moment an unidentified alien force attacks the fleet, and both teenagers are caught in the fighting. This expanded cut of the first episode runs longer than the TV broadcast version and reworks some of its footage, so it is supplementary viewing rather than a standalone entry point into the series.
