When a rare solar eclipse leaves one village locked in permanent darkness, mushi expert Ginko is called in before the lost sunlight kills off the crops. He traces the blackout to a mushi called Hihami, and to a pair of twin sisters born under an eclipse of their own, one of whom cannot bear sunlight and is quietly glad the sun is gone. Not every villager is in a hurry to have it back either. This two-chapter special serves as a prequel to the main Mushishi manga.
