Raikou grew up alongside the legendary golden armor of the Makai Knight Garo, but he cannot summon it on his own. Horrors, demons that slip through gates from the Makai realm to devour human souls, stalk the capital after dark, and Raikou vows to fight them despite his limits. He relies on the Makai Priestess Seimei and on his own traveling companion Kintoki to help him master the armor. The story is set generations before the main Garo continuity.
