Synopsis
When Zeon forces strike the space colony Side 7, Amuro Ray ends up in the cockpit of the Federation's prototype Gundam and never really gets back out of it. Adapting the 1979 television series, this manga retells the One Year War at its own pace and in its own visual register: the White Base crew's long flight from Zeon's commanders, Amuro's hardening rivalry with the ace pilot Char Aznable, and a war whose cost keeps rising for Earth and the colonies orbiting it.
