Fifteen years after colony drops left Earth's ecosystem in ruins, teenage salvager Garrod Ran stumbles onto a buried military relic: the mobile suit Gundam X. He joins the crew of the mercenary ship Freeden, using the machine to shield psychic Newtypes from factions eager to restart the war that nearly ended civilization. Garrod and the Freeden's crew make their way across a scorched, rebuilding Earth.
