Two thousand years after a catastrophic war, Earth has slid back into a pre-industrial existence while the technologically advanced "Moonrace" prepare to reclaim it from their lunar colonies. Loran Cehack, a young Moonrace scout embedded on Earth, is present when a towering stone statue called the White Doll cracks open during a Moonrace assault, revealing a powerful mobile suit: the Turn A Gundam. Loran takes the controls and finds himself caught between the two estranged branches of humanity as war threatens to reignite.
