Three teenagers go looking for the Summer Ghost, a spirit said to appear to anyone who sets off fireworks in the right forgotten place. Tomoya Sugisaki wants to paint against his mother's wishes, Aoi Harukawa is being bullied into silence, and Ryou Kobayashi is quietly running out of time, and each has a different reason for wanting to meet a ghost. This manga adaptation gives their friendships and home lives more room than the original short film, following the three through a last shared summer before each has to answer, alone, what they were really looking for.
