Kazuki, Toi, and Enta are turned into kappas after damaging a shrine statue in Asakusa, and the self-proclaimed prince Keppi strikes them a deal: hunt down kappa-zombies and recover the Dishes of Hope hidden inside them, or stay kappas forever. Standing in their way are Reo and Mabu, two police officers secretly serving the rival Otter Empire. This manga adapts the Sarazanmai anime's story, following the same trio as they're forced to confront exactly what each of them has been hiding from the others.
