コミックガンバスター

Between the main story's battles, pilot trainee Noriko Takaya and her crewmates aboard the Exelion get a run of comedic side stories set during the events of the Gunbuster OVA. One follows Noriko's admired senior, top pilot Kazumi Amano, through her wedding to Coach Ohta; another sends Noriko and fellow pilot Jung Freud out to play golf on the Moon between missions. Published in 1989, while the six-episode OVA was still running, the collection fills in the quieter, funnier moments the series had no room for.
