Synopsis
Appare Sorano builds machines nobody asked for and doesn't much care what the neighbors think, which is how he and Kosame Isshiki, the reluctant samurai sent to drag him home, end up shipwrecked and broke in Los Angeles instead. With no money and no way back to Japan, the two enter the Trans-America Wild Race, a cross-country contest promising well over a million dollars to whoever reaches New York first. This manga adapts the original anime's story of Appare's homemade automobile and Kosame's reluctant partnership across a country neither of them knows.
