After rescuing his childhood friend Michiru, Kojiro Kanemaki learns his late father belonged to the Uesugi clan and joins their expedition to Awaji Island, where an ancient threat called Yamata no Orochi endangers the land. Musashi, still working through the weaknesses that held him back in the first season, has to learn real teamwork as the Uesugi campaign pulls him and Kojiro into a larger, more dangerous fight. This second season continues directly from the original Orient TV series.
