Two decades after a nuclear plant meltdown turns Tokyo into a radioactive dead zone, the Self-Defense Forces pick up a distress signal from inside the exclusion zone. They send in three genetically engineered girls, Ibara Naruse, Aoi Fukasaku, and Taeko Nomura, whose bodies resist radiation that would kill anyone else within minutes. Rescue work in a city no one else can enter is the mission, and staying alive long enough to finish it is the real question.
