Set in the 2030s, the Boy Detectives Club takes its cases under master detective Kogorou Akechi. When member Kensuke Hanasaki crosses paths with Yoshio Kobayashi, a boy shielded by an unidentifiable fog that leaves him unable to die and wanting nothing else, Hanasaki promises to help him and brings him into the club. Their uneasy friendship pulls both of them into the long history between Akechi and the criminal known as the Fiend with Twenty Faces. This manga adapts the Trickster anime, itself drawn from Edogawa Ranpo's Boy Detectives stories.
