Ai Ohto, a fourteen-year-old shut-in grieving the suicide of her only friend Koito Nagase, discovers a gacha machine that dispenses Wonder Eggs. Each egg transports her into a surreal dreamscape where she must protect a girl from a "Wonder Killer", a monstrous embodiment of the trauma that drove that girl to suicide. Rika Kawai, Neiru Aonuma, and Momoe Sawaki take on the same quest alongside her, and Ai fights in hopes of bringing Koito back.
