Izumiko Suzuhara, raised at Tamakura Shrine within the Kumano Shrines heritage site, has a strange ability that destroys any electronic device she touches. Her guardian Yukimasa Sagara sends her to Houjou High School in Tokyo along with his son Miyuki, who has been her childhood friend for years. There Izumiko learns she is a yorishiro, a living vessel for a Shinto goddess, while Miyuki discovers he has been raised as the yamabushi meant to protect her. The manga follows the two as they adjust to their new roles and to life away from the shrine that raised her.
