After quitting her job at the end of the previous season, Retsuko finds herself pulled into local politics when a candidate takes notice of her singing and asks for her help on the campaign trail. Haida, meanwhile, is unemployed and sliding toward homelessness, holing up in an internet cafe rather than admit his situation to Retsuko. She juggles a sudden campaign schedule while he keeps that crisis to himself, and the two try to build a life together anyway.
