Gabriel, a new system security officer for the orbital society DEVA, is cut from the same mold as the first film's Angela Balzac. When a faction of DEVA deserters calling itself the Fallen surfaces on the ruins of Earth, Gabriel and fellow officers Arma and Daniel are sent down after them, while environmental researcher Raguel works the same threat from another angle. This sequel to Expelled from Paradise hands the DEVA-versus-Earth premise to an entirely new team, and the Fallen's existence traces back to the first film's events.
