Synopsis
Still reeling from his battle with Toru Rikiishi, boxer Joe Yabuki has quit the ring and wanders aimlessly until chance encounters with rival fighters reignite his old fire. He returns to trainer Danpei Tange's gym determined to climb back toward a title shot, with Venezuelan boxer Carlos Rivera brought in from abroad to help sharpen him for the fights ahead. This is a direct continuation of the original Ashita no Joe, picking up Joe's story from the manga's later chapters.
