A handful of Terraformars, genetically mutated cockroaches the size of humans bred to terraform Mars, slip past the mission's containment and reach Earth as the Mars expedition winds down. Akari Hizamaru, who gained thread-spinning abilities from an implanted moth gene, rejoins ANNEX-I survivors Michelle K. Davis, Shoukichi Komachi, and Keiji Onizuka, along with new recruits, to stop the roaches before they can take root on Earth itself.
