Synopsis
Toraji Ishida, a perpetually broke kendo instructor, makes a reckless bet with a former senpai: field a five-girl kendo team that can beat his, and he eats free at the man's family sushi restaurant for a year. His search turns up Tamaki Kawazoe, a first-year prodigy who trains at her father's dojo but treats kendo as just another chore rather than a passion. As Toraji talks her into joining and rounds out the rest of the team, Bamboo Blade follows their unlikely squad from first practice toward real competition.
