After his mother dies, elementary schooler Chihiro Komiya is taken in by his wealthy, easygoing uncle Madoka Takatori, on the condition that Chihiro handles the housework. Fastidious and a surprisingly good cook, Chihiro throws himself into keeping the house spotless, even as his uncle's costume-design studio fills every room with fabric and clutter. Beneath the mess, Takatori turns out to be trying, in his own scattered way, to be the guardian Chihiro actually needs.
