Synopsis
Miho and Shouta are third-year high schoolers on completely different tracks through one entrance-exam year. Miho studies by correspondence course from a small island in the Seto Inland Sea, with no cram school anywhere near her, aiming for a university on the mainland. Shouta works a part-time job in Tokyo around the same exams. Neither knows the other exists. This novel expands Cross Road, the short film made as a commercial for the Z-kai study service, past the ad's brief runtime and into a full account of two students choosing a way forward.
