Iku Kasahara, a book-loving twenty-two-year-old, joins the Library Defense Force after a soldier once saved her favorite novel from confiscation, only to find her new commanding officer, Atsushi Doujou, is just as hard on her as the censors he fights. In a Japan where the Media Betterment Committee can seize any book it deems offensive, Kasahara and Doujou are both selected for the elite Library Task Force, thrown together despite their constant clashes. This manga adapts Hiro Arikawa's Library War light novels, following Kasahara's growth over the following years.
