Sawaki Tadayasu can see microbes as living creatures, from sake yeast to everyday mold, a gift that landed him at an agricultural university under Professor Keizou Itsuki. This second season picks up as Itsuki's fermentation lab finally opens for business, with Tadayasu, classmate Haruka Hasegawa, and the rest of the group producing soy sauce and sake, until a new arrival named Marie unsettles the lab's routine. It continues directly from the first Moyashimon TV series five years earlier.
