Arata Hinohara, a Japanese high schooler running from a bully named Kadowaki, stumbles into Amawakuni, a mythical world of gods and swordsmen, and is immediately mistaken for a fugitive of the same name, Arata of the Hime clan, framed for the attack that left Princess Kikuri barely clinging to life. To clear that name and survive, he must master a living blade called a Hayagami while the real Arata is stranded in Hinohara's Japan in his place. The original collected edition stopped partway through in 2021, and the story carried on in a remastered edition instead.
