Atsuko Kagari — Akko to everyone around her — enrolls at Luna Nova Magical Academy chasing one goal: to become a witch like her idol, the performer Shiny Chariot. Without a drop of magical heritage, Akko struggles with basic spells while classmates like the prodigious Diana Cavendish breeze through them. When she stumbles upon the Shiny Rod, a relic tied to Chariot's legacy, Akko gains a foothold in a school that otherwise has little room for her.
