Ayato Amagiri transfers to Seidokan Academy in Rikka, a city of six battle-schools where the Genestella, humans who gained supernatural abilities after the Invertia meteor disaster, compete in tournaments called Festas. On his first day, he stumbles into a confrontation with Julis-Alexia von Riessfeld, a princess who fights to fund her homeland's orphanage.
