Motoko Kusanagi's earliest days assembling Section 9 return here in a ten-episode TV cut of the four Arise films, restructured for weekly broadcast rather than film-length installments. The first eight episodes retell the films' events, while the final two add an original arc: a virus nicknamed "Fire Starter" and a figure called Pyromania pull Kusanagi's team into a case that leads directly into the next Ghost in the Shell film.
