This three-volume anthology collects Akira Toriyama's early one-shot stories, spanning from his 1978 debut submissions through 1994, before and alongside his work on Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball. Stories range from Go! Go! Ackman, a gag comedy about a little devil who collects human souls, to the historical spoof Young Master Kennosuke and the robot duo Pola & Roid, several of which were later adapted into short anime films. Assembled as a career retrospective rather than a single narrative, it traces the gags and character designs Toriyama was testing early on.
