In an alternate world where Shinji Ikari grew up with both parents and nothing worse than exams to worry about, the high schooler spends his days with friends. That calm breaks when transfer student Rei Ayanami arrives and a tangle of crushes, rivalries, and confessions pulls in Shinji, his childhood friend Asuka Langley Soryu, and the rest of their class. When the secretive agency NERV starts recruiting students for experiments nobody will explain, the group's ordinary problems edge toward something much bigger. This manga reimagines the Evangelion cast as an alternate-universe high school romantic comedy.
