Synopsis
Coco has always wanted to be a witch, but her family has no magical blood and everyone knows witches are born, not made. Then she secretly watches the traveling witch Qifrey draw a spell and realizes magic is something anyone can learn. Testing that forbidden knowledge herself ends in disaster: a botched spell turns her own mother to stone. Recognizing both her raw talent and the danger she is now in for knowing witches' secrets, Qifrey takes Coco on as his apprentice, and she begins training toward the one goal that matters to her: undoing what she did to her mother.
