A ritual performed by the witch Miki Makimura goes catastrophically wrong, leaving Akira Fudo possessed by the demon Amon and caught between his own humanity and Amon's hunger for violence. As war between demons and humans breaks out around them, Miki steps up as Akira's equal partner rather than the bystander she was in the original story, fighting to keep him from losing himself entirely. This manga reimagines the original Devilman with Miki elevated to co-protagonist.
