Ambushed on a job for the Triad, the Lagoon Company ends up hunted by Catherine Morgan, who blames them for her twin sister's death, while Balalaika, the scarred ex-soldier behind Hotel Moscow, is drawn into a scheme to have Chang killed. That is the first of these two Black Lagoon light novels. The second follows Tricia, an American millionaire's daughter whose arrival in Roanapur brings the CIA and the Fujianese mafia with her, and whose case is muddled further by the self-styled wizard Lotton. Both stories sit alongside the main manga without folding into its numbered chapters.
