A new college semester brings a wave of freshmen circling the Genshiken club, and Ogiue Chika, now club president, has to decide who's worth recruiting. Three new members join for the wrong reason as far as she's concerned: Ogiue's own BL art, which risks turning a club built around general otaku culture into one focused entirely on fujoshi interests. Among the recruits is Hato Kenjirou, a male BL fan who crossdresses and struggles to find where he fits with a club now dominated by women who share his taste but not his identity.
