Synopsis
In 1977, the isolated village of Yonaki receives a black envelope addressed to everyone in town: a King's Game has begun, and refusing its orders means death. Kazunari Honda and his cousin Natsuko watch the commands grow crueler by the day as neighbors start turning up dead and suspicion spreads that the King giving the orders lives among them. This prequel is set decades before the King's Game story readers already know, using letters instead of phones to deliver its threats.
