Nineteen-year-old college student Feng Lan builds a male avatar for the hyper-realistic VRMMO Second Life, refusing to lean on the usual perks that come with playing female. Her creation, the elf swordsman Prince, turns out too striking to stay unnoticed, and the disguise gets riskier once real-world classmates start recognizing her online. Around Prince an odd party forms, from the hidden Game Master Lolidragon to the wolf-beastman priest Ugly Wolf and the necromancer Doll, as she navigates Second Life's competitions while guarding her secret identity.
