Synopsis
Ponyo, a goldfish and daughter of the sea wizard Fujimoto and the ocean goddess Gran Mamare, escapes her father's underwater domain and washes ashore near the home of five-year-old Sōsuke. He names her, cares for her, and the two form an instant bond. Ponyo's desperate wish to become human leads her to tap her father's magic, triggering a massive imbalance that floods the coastal town and blurs the boundary between sea and land.
