A year and a half after the events of The Legendary Hero Is Dead!, Touka Scott and his friends have settled back into quiet village life, until a solid lead on the missing hero Shion finally surfaces. Touka, who has been standing in for Shion ever since the hero died in a trap on his own farm, sets out with childhood friend Yuna Yunis and the necromancer Anri to put the old party back together and reach the Land of the Gods. Someone else is hunting the same trail, and humans, gods and demons all converge on it.
