Someone is trying to kill Reiko Gotoh, the government liaison who handles Japan's dealings with vampire society, and her werewolf bodyguard Seiji Hama, the man they call Sledge Hammer, has vanished without a word. Finding him means going back through how the two first met, an account that runs alongside the present-day hunt for whoever wants her dead. This spin-off manga bridges the two halves of the main Dance in the Vampire Bund story.
