Synopsis
Najika Kazami has an extraordinary sense of taste inherited from her pastry-chef parents, able to name any dish's ingredients and method from a single bite. When her classmate Anju Takanashi asks her to recreate a white cake Anju's grandmother tasted once as a teenager studying abroad and has wanted ever since, Najika has almost nothing to work from: the old woman can no longer recall what kind of cake it was. Her search runs from cherry-blossom season through to Christmas. This novel tells an original story written for prose alone, outside the Kitchen Princess manga.
