屍鬼

An unusually hot summer settles over Sotoba, a small village where a mysterious family moves into the long-abandoned Kanemasa mansion just as people start dying under strange circumstances. Dr. Toshio Ozaki, the only physician for miles, first suspects an epidemic, but the pattern of deaths convinces him the village faces something worse: shiki, corpse-like creatures that feed on the living. Natsuno Yuuki, a teenager who despises life in Sotoba, finds himself marked as their next target, and joins Toshio in trying to make the village see the truth before it's too late.
