Most gods in the Heavenly Court steer clear of Xie Lian, a fallen prince written off as bad luck by everyone except the Heavenly Emperor Jun Wu, who still keeps him in good standing. When the young Martial God Lang Qianqiu causes trouble in the gambling hall run by the feared Ghost King, Xie Lian has to sit down and play dice against the king himself to bail him out, only to find that the king is Hua Cheng, far kinder to him than his reputation suggests. Hua Cheng's growing generosity toward Xie Lian sets this second donghua season into motion.
