More than a year after the zombie outbreak set loose by the Army Ants, Japan's cities stand deserted and roamed by the infected. Chiyuri Haijima, abandoned as a child and living among the homeless of a public park, loses even that fragile life to the fallout of the Arachnid Hunt. She is told the outbreak can only be stopped by delivering her new friend Setsuna Dinoponera to Alice Fujii, the Organization's next boss, and sets out across the ruins while others inside the Organization scheme to keep Alice in the dark.
