Thirteen years after Miki and Yuu fell for each other, the two couples' younger children, Saku Koishikawa and Rikka Matsuura, are growing up under the same roof. They are not related by blood, but they were raised as brother and sister and neither has ever thought hard about it. Then they start middle school, Rikka is charmed by a boy who lends her an umbrella in the rain, and Saku picks that moment to tell her how he actually feels. The story carries Marmalade Boy into its next generation.
