Demons and humans once lived in balance across Shangri-La, until a scheme to resurrect the imprisoned demon lord Gyumao put that peace at risk. The goddess Kanzeon Bosatsu sends the rogue priest Genjo Sanzo west toward India, accompanied by three demons who refuse to succumb to the Minus Wave corrupting their kind: Son Goku, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai. The four cross an increasingly hostile Shangri-La together as Sanzo's mission to stop Gyumao's revival unfolds.
